Privacy

This is short because the site does very little. Every sentence below describes what the code actually does today, not what we intend it to do. If you find one that is wrong, the sentence is the thing at fault and we want to know: support@sneakertime.co.uk.

Two things can put you in our database, and both start with you filling in a form:

The drops email. We keep your email address, the day you signed up, and whether you have confirmed it. Until you confirm, nothing is sent to you at all. Every email has a one click unsubscribe at the bottom, and using it stops the address being used for anything.

An account. We keep your email address and your password. The password is not stored. What is stored is a one way scramble of it, so nobody here can read it, including us. There is no name field, no phone number, no address, and no record of what you looked at while signed in.

That is the complete list. If you want it gone, sign in and delete the account, or write to support@sneakertime.co.uk and we will do it. It happens straight away rather than after thirty days.

Nobody. There is no mailing company, no customer relationship tool and no advertising network in this. Your address sits in one database on the same Cloudflare account that serves these pages, in Western Europe, and any email comes from the domain you can see in the address bar. We do not sell data, and there is nothing here worth selling anyway.

The Sneakertime app answers "Data Not Collected" on every category in the App Store, and that stays true: neither form above appears inside the app at all. Signing up happens in a browser, deliberately, so that nothing about you can be collected through the app. Anything you add to your own collection in the app stays on your phone and in your own iCloud, which we cannot read.

One, and only if you sign in. It holds a random string that means "this browser is signed in" and nothing else. Not your address, not your name, and nothing a page can read. Signing out deletes it. There is no tracking cookie, no advertising cookie and no third party cookie of any kind, which is why you have never been shown a banner: there is nothing to consent to.

The site does not otherwise use your browser's storage. Nothing is kept in local storage or session storage, so closing the tab leaves nothing behind.

None. No Google Analytics, no tag manager, no pixel, no heat map, and no third party script of any kind. There is one small piece of scripting on each page and it does exactly three things: it hides a photograph that failed to load, it corrects a countdown that would otherwise be wrong if the page had been sitting open, and it takes you to the search page when you use the box at the top. It sends nothing anywhere.

Two pages carry a little more: the drops email page and the account page send what you typed to this site's own address and show you what came back. That is the only scripting here that sends anything anywhere, and it only runs when you press the button.

We genuinely do not know how many people read this site or which pages they read.

The search box does not send what you type to us or to anybody else. The thing being searched is a file that your browser downloads once, and the matching happens inside your browser.

The term you type does appear in the address bar, after a # symbol, so that a search can be linked to and shared. The part of an address after a # is the one part a browser never sends to a server. That is why it is written there rather than in the ordinary way, which would have put every word anybody searched for into our host's logs.

Every image on this site is served from this site. Nothing is loaded from another company's servers, so no other company learns that you were here. There are no embedded videos, no maps, no social media widgets and no comment system.

The typefaces are ones already on your device. Nothing is fetched from a font service.

This is the honest limit of the sentences above, and it is true of every website in the world. The site is served by Cloudflare. To send you a page at all, their servers have to receive your device's IP address and the address of the page you asked for, and they keep that briefly in their own logs to run the service and to stop attacks. That happens at the level of the connection, before anything we have written is involved.

We do not read those logs, we do not build anything out of them, and we do not combine them with anything else. But it would be false to tell you that nothing about your visit exists anywhere, so we are not telling you that.

support@sneakertime.co.uk is not a mailbox we run. It forwards to a personal inbox through Cloudflare's email routing, and from there it is an ordinary email: it stays in that inbox, it is read by one person, and it is not added to any list. Nothing you send is used for anything except answering you. Ask us to delete the exchange and we will.

We link to retailers, to brands and to the sources behind what we write. The moment you follow one you are on their site under their rules, and most of them do all the things this one does not. Those links carry no tag or code identifying you, and we are paid nothing for them.

The site is for a general audience and collects nothing from anybody, of any age.

UK data protection law gives you the right to see what an organisation holds about you, to correct it and to have it erased. We hold nothing about you unless you have emailed us, in which case it is that email. Write to support@sneakertime.co.uk and ask.

If the site starts doing something this page does not describe, this page changes first, in the same breath. The date below is the day the words were last altered, not the day the site was last built.
